Nelson Mandela. The face of the fight against apartheid. The revolutionary who united South Africa.
Born as a Xhosa in a royal family in 1918. Mandela studied Arts and Law with a goal to lead a quiet, happy life.
During his studies he was exposed to the colonial capitalism and started sympathizing with the ANC & communists.
In 1956 he was arrested but soon released. Disguising himself as a chauffeur he continued organizing the resistance in South Africa.
The regime finally imprisoned him. For almost 30 years.
Released in 1990 he continued his fight against apartheid and was later elected president.
Nelson Mandela united the people, brought peace to Africa and became an inspiration to all of us.
