The artist is always beginning. Any work of art which is not a beginning, an invention, a discovery is of little worth.

Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.

Art doesn’t have to be pretty. It has to be meaningful.

Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.

Go and make interesting mistakes, make amazing mistakes, make glorious and fantastic mistakes. Break rules.

Art attracts us only by what it reveals of our most secret self.

The object isn’t to make art, it’s to be in that wonderful state which makes art inevitable.
